I remember this one night I was going to dinner with my friend and her family, we carpooled on the way there, and we drove by some of the wind turbines, and they looked cool silhouetted against the pink sky and I said "Ooo look wind turbines, I love them." Her dad shudders in the driver's seat, then she tells me that he gets creeped out by wind turbines, he finds them eerie. I can see where he is coming from, but as the same time, I think that's what makes them so cool. I deliver food part-time, and I was at JWU dropping off and took the long way out, so I could drive a little closer to them. They are definitely more intimidating up close, but I can see from my office at the station, and sometimes I'll just watch them spin around when I give my eyes a break from the computer screens. I actually find them really peaceful to stare at, especially knowing they're good for the environment. Kind of wish they were colorful, like the those rainbow flower wind spinners you put in the garden.
It's a pretty wild process of how they build those huge turbines as well. Just transporting those blades is a task in and of itself, check it out! My hats off to those truck drivers!
