All right, this Thursday we are throwing it back with Marc Cohen. The year I was born, 1991, I'm sure everyone remembers walking in Memphis. To this day it's still Marc biggest song. He wrote and produced it. It about a trip he took to Memphis, to clear his head when he was suffering from writer's block. It worked! The song was nominated for a Grammy in 1992 and won him the Grammy for Best New Artist that year. It has been covered by many artists over the including Cher and Lonestar. I get it, It's a bop! The song actually pops into my head quite frequently. It was #13 on the Billboard charts the year I was born, so maybe that's why I remember it so much subconsciously. Here is it and check out a couple of the covers too! Cher crushes it, of course.
