We had a visitor in our yard this morning and I got excited, but not for me, for Kohl! It was a Box turtle! He's never really SEEN a turtle. I have taken him kayaking and the sun turtles sit on the branches or rocks, but Kohl so busy taking everything in, especially the birds, to even take notice of the turtles. This was a chance to actually show him a turtle, he could see up close and give him a little excitement for the day. It was adorable, and can't help but wonder what Kohl was thinking as he's taking in the new sight and scent. He was so intrigued, you can see it in the video below. The turtle got lost next to our pool deck, but we guided him back where he needed to go. My uncle suggested we keep it as a pet. It's a box turtle, so we could have, but we let it be free. They are native to North America and can be found on the East Coast, you've probably seen one at some point. They live near ponds and like meadows or woodlands, so we sent off him the direction of our woods and there is a stream back there.
