Happy Seedday, at least that's what it seems, since I give you my weekly updates on Sundays now LOL.
Honestly, not too much new to report with the garden this week. I was able to sift more dirt and fill in some more garden boxes to get them ready for the seedlings. 5 out of the 6 small boxes are ready, and then I just have the bigger box boxes left. And I've just been working on hardening the seedlings some more this week. I did have to replant some Eggplant and some cherry tomatoes and those didn't grow well the first time and the cherry tomatoes have popped, again!
A couple of the cups fell over though one day, so I lost a lavender and a sage plant unfortunately, but no worries I have a couple others going strong. And speaking of sage my plants from last year survived the winter out in their garden box. I wasn't sure that they were going to make it when I looked at them earlier this year they were purple looking, but they're flush, and they're green you can check out pictures below. They have been transplanted into their new home, and I'm super excited. Today was the perfect day for it. When you transplant either your seedlings or other plants outside, it's best to do it on a cloudy day and give them a nice drink of water after. I can't wait to be able to make my own sage smudge sticks, and maybe add some lavender if it grows well!

And then I'm going to get ready to start some more seedlings this weekend, so I'll have to start back from square one again.
I ordered a light off of Amazon for my seedlings because they weren't getting enough of the proper rays. As I said I'm still learning things as I've been going along. I found out that seedlings need morning light containing blue sun rays. Those are the essential rays to get them started, and they need 12 to 16 hours of light a day. Because of my lighting situation this season they were getting more afternoon light in the room I have them in which gives off red rays of sunlight which will make them become leggy. I didn't have this issues last year. You live and learn thanks for coming on this journey with me. So to fix this I ordered a UV light on Amazon for about 30 bucks. It should be in by the time I'm ready to start my second set of seedlings. And hopefully my first set will be hardy enough to transplant outside soon. I'm till waiting for more true leaves to pop, just my big red tomatoes have them so far, but i can see something starting on the peppers!
