A Savings Account and a 5 Year Plan ,is a Turn on

Want to be perceived as "hot" ? Nothing to do with looks or what you drive it focuses on preparing for the future. Research shows those who do are actually seen as more attractive.

A survey of 2-thousand U.S. adults in serious relationships, engaged or married finds:

  • Being spontaneous may be considered romantic, but 78% of respondents find someone who prepares for the future more attractive than someone who just flies by the seat of their pants.
  • It may be surprising, but having a savings account (40%), not having any debt (38%), having a five-year plan (29%) and having life insurance (23%) are all attractive traits in a partner.
  • While just 17% of people want to receive practical presents like appliances or paid bills from their partner at the beginning of a relationship, after being together for a while, 25% would prefer those practical gifts over personalized (22%) or expensive ones (10%).
  • In fact, two-thirds (67%) feel that as a relationship goes on, practical gifts are more and more romantic.
  • More than half (58%) of those polled consider themselves prepared for the future, but they didn’t start to feel that way until the age of 35, on average. And most of those polled didn’t even start to think about planning for their long-term future until they were 32.
  • People give their partners a lot of the credit, with 69% saying they’re prepared for the future thanks to their partner. Another 65% believe they’re more secure together.
  • Couples also don’t seem to waste any time when it comes to planning for the future, as 27% of respondents talked about getting married less than six months into their relationship. Nearly a quarter (24%) even talked about having kids or adopting a pet during that same time frame.
