Bruce Springsteen's Mother Adele Passes at Age 98

Bruce Springsteen's mother Adele has died at the age of 98 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Springsteen announced the sad news on Instagram that his mom passed away on Wednesday with a quote from the last verse of his song, "The Wish." It reads, “It ain't no phone call on Sunday, flowers or a Mother's Day card. It ain't no house on a hill with a garden and a nice little yard. I got my hot rod down on Bond Street, I'm older but you'll know me in a glance. We'll find us a little rock 'n roll bar and, baby, we'll go out and dance.”

Adele was often Bruce’s dancing partner at his concerts. Sadly, she had lost her ability to walk and talk back in 2021.

Adele was a secretary and mom to three children, raising them in Freehold, New Jersey. She paid $6 per week to rent guitars for Bruce back in 1957. He bought his first guitar in 1964 for $18.95, and later Adele took out a loan and bought him a Kent guitar for $60.

Little did she know back then that he would go on to become a world-famous rock star.
