Ryan Reynolds Talks "Deadpool" Christmas Movie That Got Shelved

Ryan Reynolds shed some light on the shelved "Deadpool" Christmas movie in an interview Saturday. Reynolds and the Deadpool co-writers wrote a Christmas movie starring Deadpool, but it unfortunately got lost in the shuffle when Disney acquired Fox.

Reynolds has starred in two "Deadpool" movies, one in 2016 and then a sequel in 2018. A third installment of the film franchise is currently under production with Hugh Jackman joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, reprising his role as Wolverine from "X-Men". Reynolds revealed that he had been trying to convince Jackman to make an appearance in "Deadpool" for about six years.

While it seems the "Deadpool" Christmas movie is shelved for now, there is hope. After all, the “Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special” releases this Friday on Disney+. Reynolds has performed one miracle by getting Jackman to come back as Wolverine, who’s to say he doesn’t have one more trick up his sleeve?

“Maybe one day we’ll get to make that movie. It’s not a musical, but it’s a full 'Deadpool' Christmas movie. So one day,” Reynolds said.
