Rhode Island Actress Viola Davis to Star in 'Hunger Games' Prequel

Actress Viola Davis, Rhode Island’s own, is going to star in the brand new "Hunger Games" prequel! The movie based on the book of the same name by author Suzanne Collins called "The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes," will tell the back story of the evil President Snow. We’ll see him as a young man years before he becomes the leader of Panem.

Davis will play the villain Volumnia Gaul in the movie. She is the cruel head gamemaker of the 10th Hunger Games, the televised event in which teenagers from each district fight each other to the death for the entertainment of the elites in The Capitol.

Also cast in the movie are Tom Blyth, Rachel Zegler, Hunter Schafer and one of my favorite actors, Peter Dinklage of “Game of Thrones” fame.

“The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes" will be in theaters on November 17th.
