The musical “Ain’t Too Proud- Life and Times of the Temptations” will be at the Providence Performing Arts Center from April 12th through the 17th, and it's full of fantastic music. Tickets are still available at the box office call 401-421-ARTS or online click HERE!
The show is a “Juke Box” musical similar to Jersey Boys and it goes back and tells the story of rise of The Temptations to fame and fortune.
Deri’andra Tucker plays Diana Ross in the show, and she says they like to call it a “Memory Play,” because it goes into the mind of Otis Williams and tells his story of the group’s beginnings.
The Temptations were coming up in the early 60s, which was a very tumultuous time of civil unrest here in America, and the show touches on that environment and how it affects the group.
