These are some very creative kids! Up in Vermont, VTrans, the state’s Agency of Transportation, asked the local students to suggest names for all of the state’s snowplows just in time for the winter. The kids came up with 163 names, and the winners are: “William Scrapedspeare,” “Edgar Allan Snow,” “Snow-be-gone Kenobi,”(that’s my personal favorite,) “Darth Blader,” “Captain Snow-merica,” “Jennifer Snow-pez” and the ever popular “Plowy McPlowface.”
And a first grader at Robinson Elementary suggested the name “Snowy Chicken” for their school’s snow plow. Each participating school was visited by their newly dubbed plow on November 17th which was Vermont Plow Day. The state’s snow plows then officially received their names on November 24th, 2021.
I think we need to do that here in Rhode Island! I would love for "Snow-be-gone Kenobi" to plow my street. Maybe it would get done sooner!
