Netflix Announces "Tiger King" is Back For Season Two!

Apparently Netflix thinks we're clamoring for more “Tiger King” because there's gonna be a Season two! The streaming giant announced yesterday that there will be a follow up to the popular documentary about convicted felon "Joe Exotic," and his "zoo" in Oklahoma. The show also followed his nemesis Carole Baskin, owner of Big Cat Rescue, who accused Exotic of abusing and exploiting the big cats in his care. Meanwhile, Joe is still in jail for a murder for hire scheme. He was found guilty of paying a hitman to murder Baskin, and received a 17 year federal prison sentence.

Other than a press release which promises that “Tiger King 2” will bring us “more madness and mayhem,” we don't know a whole lot about Season 2. A slate announcement teaser video for Netflix called The Home of True Crime gives us some clips of Carole and also Jeff, and we also see Joe phoning in from jail. The second season was filmed in 2020 and part of this year as well.

No release date was announced, but also in the teaser were previews of four other upcoming true crime series and docs that are set to hit the streamer in early 2022. Those include “The Puppet Master: Hunting the Ultimate Conman,” “The Tinder Swindler,” “Trust No One: The Hunt for the Crypto King” and “Bad Vegan.” Watch the teaser video!
