Fans have been waiting for a sequel to the hit Eddie Murphy movie "Coming to America" since 1988. Well it's finally here, and apparently tons of people watched it! The sequel “Coming 2 America” was the biggest movie launch of the past year on a streaming service. The movie was released on Amazon Prime this past weekend, and viewership topped “The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run” on Amazon and the new Disney flick “Raya and the Last Dragon” that was available on premiere access for 30 dollars.
No official viewership numbers have been released, but word is the movie beat out a couple of other sequels released on streamers last year. “Coming 2 America” scored a bigger opening weekend than Amazon's “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm,” that came out in October also the Christmas Day debut of “Wonder Woman 1984” on HBO Max.
