Rhode Island State Police are installing 39 automatic license plate readers as part of a 597-thousand-dollar contract with Flock.
The cameras are being put in place to assist law enforcement in criminal investigations, missing persons cases, and locating stolen vehicles.
Under the State Police policy, the Flock data will not be shared with other states or federal agencies, including ICE for administrative immigration enforcement.
The three-year contract will begin when all of the cameras are installed.
