Members of Rhode Island's congressional delegation have announced just over 20-million-dollars in federal funding for T. F. Green and local airports.
T. F. Green International Airport will receive more than 12-point-5 million-dollars for a new overnight apron to accommodate more aircraft operations.
Nearly 5-point-4-million-dollars is going to Westerly Airport to rehabilitate four-thousand-feet of an existing paved runway and Newport State Airport is receiving close to 2-million-dollars for the same type of project.
North Central State Airport on Smithfield will use 179-thousand-dollars in funding to remove vegetation obstructions.
