Rhode Island District Court Judge Melissa DuBose wants to know why federal officials did not disclose that a man she released was wanted for murder in the Dominican Republic.
Last week, the judge released Bryan Rafael Gomez on an assault charge without any information about the murder warrant.
Following the release, a DHS press release saying "an activist judge appointed by Joe Biden released this wanted murderer back into American communities."
During a virtual hearing Monday, Assistant U.S. Attorney Kevin Bolan told Judge DuBose that ICE told him not to share the information because they had not received authorization from the Dominican Republic.
