Hummingbirds are making their way north after spending the winter months in Mexico and Central America.
The ruby-throated hummingbird is the only species that breeds in Rhode Island and there has been a sighting in Exeter.
According to the Hummingbird Central map, the tiny bird was spotted Tuesday.
Male hummingbirds are the first to return and the experts recommend putting out hummingbird feeders at the end of April or beginning of May.
