The Coalition for Newport Hospital Birthing Center will hold a lobby day at the Rhode Island State House on April 9th.
Organizers say they will advocate for protecting and sustaining access to local, high-quality maternal and newborn care for Newport County and Aquidneck Island families.
During next week's lobby day, participants will meet with legislators to share why protecting the birthing center matters to the community and to ask for their support on key legislation.
The Coalition for Newport Hospital Birthing Center is a community-based effort made up of county residents and families, healthcare workers, civic leaders and community organizations.
