A fugitive wanted for a 2017 murder in Providence has been captured in Guatemala.
U.S. Marshals took 36-year-old John Nunez into custody on Tuesday in connection with the drive-by shooting death of Devin Burney outside of the Noah Lounge on Broad Street.
Authorities say Nunez allegedly evaded law enforcement by using false identification documents to flee the country and set up residence in Guatemala.
The process of extraditing Nunez to the U.S. is expected to take a few days.
