Rhode Island Senator Jack Reed is condemning the Trump Administration for wasting taxpayer dollars on a fleet of ICE vehicles.
The administration purchased trucks and SUVs that ICE agents won't use because they are custom-wrapped with the agency's name, logo and the phrase Defend the Homeland.
Senator Reed says emblazoning Trump's name on a bunch of unusable vehicles doesn't make the country safer and the lack of budgetary oversight within the organization is appalling.
He says whether it's the gaudy, custom-wraps for SUV, purchasing a luxury 737 aircraft or hanging 30-foot banners of the president's face on the side of the Department of Justice, political appointees are competing to pander to Donald Trump.
It's unclear how much the administration paid for the vehicles and Reed says the DHS Inspector General's watchdog office should investigate.
