Rhode Island Senator Jack Reed says he wants to hear more about Kevin Warsh's plans if he is approved to chair the Federal reserve.
Last week, President Trump announced his intention to nominate Warsh for the post to replace Jerome Powell whose term expires in May.
Reed wants to know if Warsh is more attuned to President Trump's personal preferences or the struggles of America's hard-working families.
The senator says the financial security and well-being of the American people must come first and more information is needed regarding Warsh's plans and the safeguards he'll support to ensure the Fed's independence.
