U.S. Secretary Of Education Visits West Greenwich School

U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon visited Exeter-West Greenwich Regional Junior High and High School on Monday.

The stop was part of her Returning Education to the States Tour. McMahon toured classrooms, spoke with students, and met with school leaders during her visit.

Secretary McMahon, Administration officials, and education leaders will visit schools in all 50 states to showcase examples of high-quality history and civics instruction that bring American principles to life. The tour will feature hands-on learning activities, opportunities for students to explore their roles as future leaders, and conversations with community members about how to strengthen civic education nationwide.

The Education Department says the tour is an effort to gather best practices from schools as it attempts to redefine what public education could look like with less of a federal role.
