Providence has formalized a long-term partnership to secure WaterFire's future and support the city's creative economy.
Mayor Brett Smiley has signed a long-term lease agreement between the city and WaterFire Providence for the WaterFire Arts Center, ensuring the facility's long-term future as a cultural and community asset.
The mayor says the agreement keeps the facility in local hands and guarantees that WaterFire will remain on site under a twenty-year lease.
The WaterFire Arts Center attracts around a million visitors a year, bringing foot traffic that supports restaurants, hotels and small businesses while boosting the City's creative economy.
