Senators Reed, Whitehouse Say Action To Lower Health Costs Cannot Wait

Rhode Island Senators Jack Reed and Sheldon Whitehouse say federal action to lower healthcare costs cannot wait.

The senators joined HealthSource RI Director Lindsay Lang and Peter Marino, the President and CEO Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island Monday, to discuss the looming price hikes and the urgent need for action.

The senators say tens of thousands of Rhode Islanders will see their health care premiums skyrocket if Congress doesn't work in a bipartisan way to extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits.

According to Whitehouse, premiums will double without action, and it will further strain the health care system.
