Governor Pledges Crackdown On "Street Takeovers"

Governor Maura Healey has pledged law enforcement is going to crack down on so-called "street takeovers."

There have recently been chaotic and violent scenes in Boston and several other communities.

The governor said "street takeovers" are destructive, dangerous and illegal.

Healey said she has directed the State Police to work with local police to "identify, apprehend and punish offenders."
