Two Rhode Island residents are facing charges following their arrests early yesterday morning during a violent confrontation in Boston's South End.
Police responded to a large-scale vehicle takeover where they encountered a crowd of more than 100 who attacked cruisers throwing fireworks. poles and other objects.
One cruiser caught fire and was extensively damaged.
Eighteen-year-old Julian Bowers of Cumberland, and 18-year-old William Cantwell of Warwick, are charged with malicious destruction of property, disorderly conduct, Assault and battery on a police officer and resisting arrest.
Both men made bail.
Their attorney says that the police report is confusing and his clients have done nothing wrong.
