Senator Whitehouse Posts Message From "Republican Playbook"

Congress failed to pass a proposal that would have funded the federal government and a partial government shutdown is now in place.

Rhode Island Senator Sheldon Whitehouse posted a Facebook message saying "Healthcare for illegal aliens" is the new "immigrants are eating cats and dogs in Springfield."

The Senator says the "Republican Playbook" is simple "make up a baseless lie, repeat it every chance you get, hope and pray that everyone blames Democrats for the crisis you created."

He says Republicans "don't want to govern. They want to rule."
