Revolution Wind To Resume Construction Following Federal Court Ruling

Construction on Rhode Island's offshore wind project will resume following a federal court ruling against a Trump administration stop-work order.

On Monday, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia granted a preliminary injunction in favor of Revolution Wind after the project was halted on August 22nd.

In a statement, Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Neronha says the legal victory reaffirms that the President cannot cancel clean energy projects just because he believes it's politically expedient for him.

Governor Dan McKee is reacting to a federal court ruling that will allow Revolution Wind to restart construction of its offshore wind project.

The governor says the preliminary injunction against a Trump administration stop-work order is encouraging, and he remains optimistic that the courts will continue to recognize the legitimacy and importance of the project to the state.

McKee says halting a fully permitted project that's 80 percent complete harms Rhode Island families, businesses, and workers.
