Governor Dan McKee is following up on his meeting with the Secretary of the Interior by reiterating his opposition to stopping the Revolution Wind Project.
In a letter to Secretary Doug Burgum, the governor said the project is 80-percent completed, and the stop-work order undermines efforts to expand the energy supply, lower costs for families and businesses and strengthen regional reliability.
McKee says the action puts hundreds of well-paid, blue-collar jobs at risk by halting a project that is just steps away from powering more than 350-thousand homes in Rhode Island and Connecticut.
Governor McKee is also seeking a meeting with The President to make the case for the project to be restarted and completed.
So far there has been no response from the White House.
