The Attorneys General of Rhode Island, Connecticut and Massachusetts are joining twenty other attorneys general who are suing the Trump administration. It's over what the AGs described as the "imposition of illegal conditions on more than one-billion-dollars in congressionally authorized funds for Victims of Crime Act grant recipients."
The lawsuit was filed yesterday in Providence.
It argues the administration is disregarding the law and the intent of Congress by deciding states won't have access to the funds unless they support the Trump administration's quote, "extreme immigration enforcement efforts."
