Butler Hospital, Workers Reach Tentative Deal

After a strike that has lasted three months, Butler Hospital and employees have reached a deal on a tentative contract.

The exact details on the agreement will be made public in the coming days, but it ends an impasse that started when the contracts between Care New England,

Butler's parent company and SEIU 1199NE ended back on March 31st.

The announcement came in a brief, joint statement from both the hospital and the union:

"On behalf of both Butler Hospital and members of the bargaining committee representing all job classifications of the hospital, we are pleased to share that a tentative agreement has been reached. More details will be forthcoming in the coming days"

Hospital workers had expressed concerns about pay, benefits and workplace safety. It'll be up to the union to ratify this agreement.

A ratification vote has not been scheduled yet.
