The Rhode Island Foundation is awarding 375-thousand-dollars in grants to be shared by 62 nonprofits in Newport County.
The funding will support programs ranging from housing assistance and food pantries to education initiatives and arts projects.
The grants come through the Foundation's Newport County Fund which supports programs in Jamestown, Little Compton, Middletown, Newport, Portsmouth and Tiverton.
