Rhode Island Transit Riders Rally Against Proposed Bus Service Cuts

Rhode Island transit riders gathered at Kennedy Square in Providence to voice their opposition to RIPTA's proposed bus service cuts.

The demonstrators are calling for Governor Dan McKee to allocate an additional ten-million-dollars to maintain the existing service levels.

Residents at a rally last night say that if the cuts are approved then lives will be impacted and people will be left stranded.

RIPTA's proposed cut would change or eliminate 58 of its 63 routes.

RIPTA's board of directors is scheduled to meet today.
