RI Senator Calls For Investigation Into Push For Partisan Gerrymandering

Rhode Island's Sheldon Whitehouse and other Senate Democrats want a special investigation into the redrawing of congressional boundaries.

Senator Whitehouse has joined Dick Durbin of Illinois and California's Alex Padilla in calling for a Special Counsel to investigate possible violations of the Hatch Act by the Trump administration.

Under the Hatch Act, it is illegal for executive branch officials to use their public office for partisan political activities, that could include mid-cycle redistricting for a political advantage.
