One person is dead, and two others are hospitalized following a Wednesday afternoon place crash on Block Island.
The Rhode Island Airport Corporation says the single-engine aircraft went down at around 12:30 p.m. and one victim died on the way to the hospital.
The remaining victims were flown to Rhode Island Hospital, and they are expected to survive.
The plane was en route from Albany, New York, to Block Island when it crashed.
The NTSB is expected to arrive on the island today to investigate the crash.
Meantime, Rhode Island Representative Seth Magaziner has released a statement after a small plane crashed on Block Island on Wednesday.
He says his heart goes out to those impacted by the crash that has tragically claimed a life.
Magaziner says he has been in contact with local officials regarding the accident and he's deeply grateful to the first responders who rushed to the scene.
The Congressman says his thoughts and prayers remain with the surviving victims who are recovering at the hospital.
