Rhode Island remains under a heat advisory until 8 p.m. Wednesday night.
Today's high temperatures are expected to be in the mid and upper 90's with a heat index that will make it feel like it's 103-degrees.
State health officials advise residents to stay hydrated, stay in the air conditioning if possible and limit strenuous outdoor activities.
They also suggest wearing lightweight and loose-fitting clothing and taking immediate action when symptoms of heat exhaustion or heat stroke are seen.
