Labor Unrest At Women & Infant's Hospital

Unionized employees at Women & Infant's Hospital accuse parent company Care New England of anti-union activity and unlawful actions.

District 1199 Service Employees International Union said eight medical records employees in the oncology department were laid off allegedly in retaliation ahead of yesterday's informational picket.

A Care New England spokesperson said the layoffs don't take effect until October and that those losing their jobs would have the opportunity to seek comparable positions in the hospital.
