It could be a potentially wild weather day in Rhode Island thanks to both extreme heat and severe storms.
Forecasters believe temperatures will reach the low 90s and when combined with high humidity, the heat index may be near 100 degrees in some locations.
There's also a threat of severe weather from 3 until 7 p.m. and storms might bring heavy rainfall, strong winds and trigger power outages.
There are cooling centers that are open all throughout the state.

As for those thunderstorms, the people at The National Weather Service say that the best chance for a thunderstorm will be the northwest corner of the state.
