Pope Leo XIV Recognizes 2007 Hospital Incident As "Miracle"

The Pope is recognizing a "miracle" that happened at a Pawtucket hospital nearly 20 years ago.

An article by The Dicastery for the Causes of Saints says a baby named Tyquan was born prematurely by emergency cesarean section at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island in January 2007.

When Tyquan's heart stopped beating, an attending doctor prayed to 19th-century Spanish priest Salvador Valera Parra for "intercession."

Tyquan's heart then started beating again and he was eventually discharged six weeks later.

He began speaking at 18 months of age and walking when he was two.

The article says Tyquan "continued his growth as a normal child by leading a regular life."
