Providence Mayor Brett Smiley has signed the city's fiscal year 2026 budget.
The mayor says the 624-million-dollar budget reflects the city's commitment to protecting essential services, making smart investments and limiting the financial burden on neighbors and businesses.
Smiley says despite real financial challenges, he's proud to have worked closely with the City Council to deliver a balanced, responsible budget that strengthens Providence's finances and keeps it on the path toward long-term stability and growth.
