Rhode Island Under Heat Advisory Through Thursday

A heat advisory begins at 11 a.m. in Rhode Island and it will remain in effect through Thursday.

The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will make temperatures feel like 95 to 100 degrees with the worst of it expected Wednesday and Thursday.

The public is reminded to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned rooms if possible and check on relatives and neighbors.

And, officials are also warning that you should not leave your pets or young children unattended inside of a car.

Even with the windows open a crack it doesn't take long for temperatures to be oppressive.
