An Extreme Heat Warning remains in effect for most of Rhode Island today.
The National Weather Service expects dangerously hot conditions and high humidity with heat index values of up to 110 degrees.
The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management has issued an Air Quality Alert for today because of elevated concentrations of ground-level ozone.
Those with heart or lung disease are urged to reduce their exertion level, make sure their medicines are handy and stay close to air conditioning.
