North Providence Man Sentenced For Setting Church On Fire

The North Providence man who pleaded guilty to trying to burn down a church has been sentenced to more than six-years in federal prison.

Kevin Colantonio was arrested a few days after setting the February 2024 fires at the Shiloh Gospel Temple Ministries, which has mostly Black membership.

During the investigation, police found racist writings in Colantonio's apartment and surveillance video showed him buying gasoline and a lighter just before the fires were set.
