RIDOT To Replant Trees That Were Cut Down Without Permission

The Rhode Island Department of Transportation says the trees that were wrongfully cut down near I-95 in March will be replanted.

In March, a contractor working on the I-95 15 Project cut down a grove of trees near Roger Williams Park in Providence without permission leading to concerns about flooding and erosion.

RIDOT says some of the trees will be replaced this year and the final landscaping will be installed when the construction of the bridge is finalized in 2027.
