Prosecutors Recommend 41-Month Sentence For ATM Skimmer

Federal prosecutors in Rhode Island are recommending a 41-month sentence for the Romanian national who pleaded guilty to installing card skimmers on ATMs in six states.

Mario Demarco is scheduled to be sentenced today after entering into a plea deal in January.

Demarco and an accomplice placed the skimming devices on bank machines in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania and created fake bank cards with the stolen information.

Co-conspirator Stefano Garioli pleaded guilty in December, and he's scheduled to be sentenced on June 12th.
