RI Governor's Approval Rating Plunges In New Ocean State Poll

According to a new poll, Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee's approved rating has plunged to a new low.

The Ocean State Poll by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center puts McKee's job approval rating at 19-percent, down from 29-percent a year ago. McKee's disapproval rating was 71-percent and 9-percent of respondents had no opinion.

According to WPRI-TV, the survey also finds strong opposition to McKee's plan to run for another term in 2026 with only 11-percent saying he deserves to be reelected.

The survey of 653 Rhode Island residents was conducted online and by text from May 22nd to May 26th and the margin of error is plus or minus 3-point-8-percent.
