A Woonsocket man will spend more than 15 years in federal prison for gun trafficking.
Jose Marrero pleaded guilty to possessing a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
Prosecutors describe Marrero as a violent machine-gun trafficker who showed off his guns on social media, making it clear that he had access to semi-automatic rifles, AR-15s, and guns modified with machine gun conversion devices.
After serving 181 months behind bars, Marrero will be on federal supervised release for five years.
