Striking Butler Hospital employees rallied at the State House in Providence on Tuesday.
The members of the New England Health Care Employees Union walked off the job last week after contract negotiations with management stalled.
The union is calling on management to address what they say are critical safety and economic concerns that have contributed to a staffing shortage.
Last week the union filed an unfair labor practice complaint against the hospital saying management has threatened, coerced and retaliated against workers after their contracts expired.
Hospital officials say the union broke off from negotiations and refuses to resume talks.
