Rhode Island Joins Coalition To Stop Federal EV Infrastructure Cuts

Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Neronha has joined a coalition to stop the Trump Administration from cutting federal funds for electric vehicle infrastructure.

Neronha says unless the courts check the President's overreach, Rhode Island stands to lose more than 26-million-dollars in EV infrastructure funding.

Neronha and the other attorneys general say electric vehicle infrastructure is necessary to make significant progress in reducing carbon emissions and the administration's termination of the funds is illegal.

The coalition says the President's directive and implementation violates the Administrative Procedures Act, the separation of powers, and the Take Care Clause.

The coalition's lawsuit seeks a court order against the unlawful actions, and a restoration of EV infrastructure funding.
