The state is going to spend nearly one-million-dollars to promote Rhode Island on the History Channel through July, 5th, 2026.
The commercials will promote the state as the first to declare independence from Great Britain as the network commemorates the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States.
Governor Dan McKee said the story of America can't be told without the story of Rhode Island.
He said showcasing Ocean State will drive tourism and help the local economy.
