Federal Deadline Is Soon For Real ID

May 7th, is the deadline for anyone over 18 to have REAL ID in order to board a plan in the U.S.

Passports are acceptable, but the TSA said REAL ID is more convenient.

As of Tuesday only about 62-percent of Rhode Islanders have obtained the new ID.

73 percent of Connecticut residents have Real IDs.

56 percent of Massachusetts residents have Real IDs.

Those without REAL ID can schedule an in-person appointment with the state Division of Motor Vehicles.
